Recipes By Mark / April 14, 2019 Share Tweet Pin Share Game of Thrones is embedded in our culture as surely as any other television and book series ever. Through the last seven series we watched with excitement, and agony. As your favorite characters move to the inevitable goal of sitting on and ruling from the Iron Throne. And along the way they gotta eat. Although we can usually see ourselves downing our little lemon cakes like Sansa Stark, we really hesitate leaning into a bowl of brown or a slice of pigeon pie. We can definitely sink our teeth into some hearty fair. Roasted Meats Boastful Boar A pork shoulder roasted in the oven or in a nice pellet grill fills the need for great food. You can tear into and would fit right in at the tables of our warring clans. It is full of flavor, easy to fix and great for tearing apart. Slathered it across roasted potatoes, tortillas, or even a salad. Imagine your hunters just brought down a wild boar that was ravaging the neighboring farmlands. Then check out our Roasted Pork recipe. Watch the mouths water and bask in the hails of the grateful as they praise the deed. Fired Fowl Readily available, inexpensive, our Fired Fowl recipe pairs well with foraged vegetables (you know, from the grocery store) and cabbages. Leftovers can be added to new dishes for a weeks worth of dinners and small plate options. Sullied Sausages This one is easy, tasty, and full of options. Leap over to our Sullied Sausages recipe and feel free to modify it to your hearts content. Sausages made from chicken, pork, wild game, or meatless varieties all fit well into this recipe. Awful Offal Okay, most of us do not usually eat offal. But I wanted to play on words a bit and substituted an awesome recipe. Too many people think tofu is awful. Yes, bad pun but our Torn Tofu good food. Honestly, this is a great 20 minute meal to add to any side, nachos, tortillas, soups, just about anything. So get your Game of Thrones evening on! Fix some hardy fare and enjoy the thrill of the flavors and decadence.
